Manatee-RC is a culmination of the hobbies I enjoy.
RC Modeling, Amateur Photography, Amateur Video, and Computers.
This is a totally free website and my contribution to model aviation.

I'm an old RC modeler that actually got burned out on the hobby back around 1993 and recently got bitten by the bug again. My 1st RC experience was as a member of the Valkyries of Manatee and later became a charter member of MCRC. I served many terms as the treasurer and newsletter editor of MCRC. Loved building aircraft and flying them. Just one of those cases where I was applying 110% of myself to a hobby and burned out after taking on a term as president of the club. Most will remember me as Dan Hunt although I have adopted the use of my 1st name, "Bill" in recent years. It's a work thing where there was more than one "Dan" answering the phone and saved confusion over which one of us they wanted.
Around the same time of reaching burnout, we had to suddenly move to a smaller apartment. That caused me to "bargain basement" out all my equipment and building tools (no place to put them) and I got away from the hobby for a long time.
At Christmas of 2006 I got a "toy" helicopter. A two channel Dragonfly (Hughes replica) that even though it couldn't actually be "flown" was still fun to play with. It was enough to give me the fever all over again and a few days later ordered myself a Century Hummingbird V4 as a trainer copter. (Check the "REVIEWS" page for details). And, it has been gaining momentum ever since.

Though still in a small apartment with no room for building or storage of big models I have rediscovered the joys of R/C in small RTF and ARF electrics. They have improved dramatically since the time when I was "in my prime". Chances are those that knew me back then wouldn't even recognise the bald guy with the little electic 'copter as being the same person holding the big Byron's F20 Tigershark shown in the banner.

This web site is just my way of sharing a great hobby with whoever happens to drop by.
Your feedback and comments are welcome here. I also maintain a R/C related yahoo group where you can put up your own photos, list events for your area, etc. The "MANATEE_RC" button will take you to it. Drop by and say hello if you'd like.
